We all love Thanksgiving Day for the appetizing meal and an abundance of traditional dishes. Every year we celebrate this holiday, eating turkey, buttery mashed potatoes and green bean casserole before finishing with the pumpkin pie. Traditions Update or Green Bean Casserole with Duck Breast Marget

  • Fresh green beans 800 gr
  • Smoked duck breast magret 1 pcs
  • Garlic 3 cloves (minced)
  • Red paprika 1 pcs (diced)
  • Small onion 1 pcs (chopped)
  • Butter 4 tbsp.
  • Wheat flour 4 tbsp.
  • Whole milk 0.5 l (plus extra for thinning if needed)
  • Half-and-half 1/2 cup
  • Cayenne pepper 1/8 tbsp.
  • Grated Cheddar 1 cup
  • Panko breadcrumbs 1 cup
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Total Time: 1 hour


Сlean green beans from the tips, chop into 2 parts if you like smaller pieces. Blanch beans in boiling salt water for 5-7 minutes; this will result in a softness with a juicy texture at the same time. Put the beans in a colander and rinse with cold water, allow the water to drain.

Heat the oven to 350F.

Remove the packaging from the duck breast, cut in small pieces.

Fry on a pan the onion, garlic, bell pepper over medium heat until onions get golden. Add pieces of magret breast and cook for 3 minutes.

Melt butter in microwave or in a pot over low heat. Add flour and stir intensively until smooth texture, add milk and half-and-half. Heat the sauce while constant stirring until thickened. Add the grated cheddar cheese and spices: black pepper, salt and cayenne pepper. Let the cheese melt, then turn off the heat.

Prepare the form for baking. Put the mixture of duck breast and roasted vegetables on the bottom, add a half of the sauce. Top with the green beans and add the other half of the sauce. Sprinkle with the panko. Bake for 30 minutes.


Smoked Salmon Deviled Eggs

If the main banquet dish is nourishing and fatty, this means snacks should be light and airy. Add a zest to your traditional menu with appetizers from smoked salmon fillet and roe. Specified quantity of ingredients is enough to 14 servings of tender delicacy. Time of cooking is 1 hour.

  • Extra-large eggs 7 pcs
  • Sour cream 1/2 cup
  • Cream cheese 50 gr
  • Mayonnaise 1 tbsp
  • Lemon juice (freshly squeezed) 1 tbsp.
  • Smoked salmon (minced) 110 gr
  • Salt
  • Ground black pepper
  • Salmon roe 40 gr


Boil the eggs in a saucepan with a wide bottom for 15 minutes, then cool in cold water.

Clean eggs from the shell and cut lengthwise into two parts. Prepare a bowl of an electric mixer, put in yolks, smoked salmon, sour cream, mayonnaise, cream cheese and lemon juice, add salt and pepper. Blend the ingredients until fine texture.

Stuff the eggs with salmon filling with a teaspoon. Place the finished appetizers for 30 minutes in the refrigerator for maximum release of ingredients fragrance. Before serving, garnish each appetizer with a dollop of salmon roe. Bon appetite!


Quick Snack: Blinis With Creme Fraiche And Smoked Salmon

No time for culinary delights? You need less than 15 minutes to prepare these super-fast appetizers. The result will be consistently excellent. All you need to do is to buy all ingredients in advance.

To cook 20 servings you will need:



Heat oven to 350F. Put pancakes on the baking sheet and heat for 7 minutes. Cool to a comfortable temperature.
Put a strip of smoked salmon on each pancake. Garnish with 1 teaspoon of creme fraiche and sprigs of dill. Surprise your guests with the new recipe!
