Beluga caviar

Marky's | Caviar | Beluga

Beluga Hybrid is available at Marky's! While the first domestic Beluga Caviar will be available for purchase later this year, we have already started Beluga Hybrid sales right now. Beluga is the most famous and exclusive of all caviar, valued by foodies the whole world over. Marky's and our partners, Sturgeon Aquafarms, began the manufacture of domestic Beluga caviar in Florida; now it is the only Beluga aquafarm in the United States, while imports of Beluga caviar and Beluga meat are prohibited.

Our Beluga Hybrid is the result of cross-breeding Beluga with Siberian sturgeon. It is a unique product that exhibits the size and flavor profile of Beluga with the speed of production of the smaller Siberian sturgeon, providing an alternative to the limited supplies of Beluga.

As trade in Beluga sturgeon caviar and meat has been prohibited in the United States for about a decade, tanking the availability and sales of both products, Beluga caviar has been almost impossible to obtain. But beginning in 2016 Marky's Caviar company will sell domestic Beluga caviar from the only Beluga farm in the US – Sturgeon Aquafarms. The Beluga Hybrid is already available for purchase at Marky's Caviar store.

What is Beluga caviar? This is a product unsurpassed in the gourmet food industry for desirability and near-unattainability. One variety has been entered in the Guinness World Records books as the most expensive food item in the world, costing an incredible GBP 25,000 per kilogram.

This high Beluga caviar price is readily explained under the circumstances. This product is harvested from the critically endangered Beluga (Huso Huso) fish, also known as the "European Sturgeon" native to the Caspian Sea basin. The overfishing and poaching of Beluga in its original environment have nearly led to its extinction, and eventually motivated the United States Fish and Wildlife Service to consider this species as critically endangered and thus to ban the importation of Beluga sturgeon caviar from the Caspian Sea basin starting in 2006. After this the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) suspended trade in Beluga caviar, allowing only very small amounts of this product to be sold on the international market.

Quite aside from its scarcity, though, Beluga is also immensely flavorful. The individual eggs of Beluga caviar have a firm envelope that is still delicate enough to burst with hardly any pressure, releasing the buttery, nutty taste of its fluids. The uncommonly large eggs of the Beluga caviar range in color from light to dark gray, with a glossy finish. The processed product is graded according to its color: the lighter the nearly translucent envelope of the roe, the higher its grade and correspondingly its price.

The Beluga is a fish with a great deal of personality, which can be quite persnickety. It is the biggest known freshwater fish in the world, with only Kaluga, its close relative, in range to complete with it. This is a long-lived species, with the oldest recorded specimen attaining 118 years. During their extensive lifespans, the fish can grow up to 7.2 meters in length and weigh up to 1.5 tons. During the spawning period up to a quarter of the female fish's weight is made up of roe, the precious material harvested to produce Beluga caviar. Older fish produce eggs that are larger, lighter in color, and more exquisitely flavorful.

Despite the ban of imports, we plan to give our valued customers an exclusive opportunity to buy Beluga caviar and indulge in its remarkable flavor!

Soon, Marky's Gourmet Store will be able to offer Beluga caviar harvested from domestic Beluga raised by Sturgeon Aquafarms. This is an innovative aquaculture facility situated in the small town of Bascom in Northern Florida. Using the latest technology developed to raise commercially valuable fish and harvest their caviar, this facility is able to provide quality products to the market without placing any additional strain on wild fish populations. The Beluga, Sevruga, and Sterlet sturgeons grown there find their condition of life considerably superior to what they would find in their natural environment. Their ponds are filled with drinking quality water, and they are fed a natural diet, without any artificial additives or antibiotics. The whole process is overseen by a staff with the highest degree of professionalism and experience to ensure the highest quality of meat and caviar. Due to the immense skillfulness and care involved in bringing you this one-of-a-kind product, the price of our Beluga caviar will be high – but worth it.

No doubt you are already eager for a chance to taste our product. For those who do not wish to wait, we already offer Marky's Beluga Hybrid (a cross-breed of Beluga and Siberian sturgeon), as well as the closest possible alternative to this product – Kaluga caviar, also known as "River Beluga Caviar" which you can always find at Marky's Caviar for a better price than the cost of Beluga caviar. We feel confident that you will be astonished by the fine flavor of this excellent product.
